Detecting, Preventing, And Intervening With Chronic Disease

Dedicated to Reducing Health Disparities and providing impactful volunteering opportunities to students

Our Vision and Mission

Who We Are

MEDDIP is dedicated to transforming healthcare by creating innovative detection tools for a range of chronic diseases. Our mission is to deploy these tools in at-risk communities, ensuring people receive timely insights into their health. By focusing on clear, actionable next steps, we empower individuals—especially those with higher risk—to take control of their well-being and make informed decisions for a healthier future.

Current Projects

Detection Tool Development

Detecting Disease Early Allows For Better Intervention Outcomes

The current tools that exist for early chronic disease detection are often locked behind paywalls, are not accessible, or take a clinician to administer accurately.

Our research team is building a new free tool based on the most recent science. We will publish this widely and make it usable by non-experts. The tool will provide a confidence interval for the risk of disease to the person, and what their next steps should be.

Epidemiology Research

Deciding where to deploy the tools are critical for maximizing impact

Our epidemiology team is working on identifying current hotspots for various diseases (diabetes, Alzheimer's, breast cancer, and more), and predicting where the next impacted areas will be.

This is instrumental for informing where we will deploy our physical tool, as well as inform where we target our online information.

Educational Material Development

Once a disease is detected, the individual needs information they can digest

After someone completes their risk assessment, we need to provide them actional next steps, and explain their risks and the disease in a way that is accessible for them.

We are taking a multi-media approach to educate the public. The team members working in this area of MEDDIP are often artistic and interested in scientific communication,
